How do I back up my documents?
In Doc8, open Settings, then Backup, and tap Create Encrypted Backup. Lock it with your iCloud Keychain (no password to remember) or with a password. Save the file to Files or send it to a computer or drive you trust.
How do I restore on a new phone?
Install Doc8, open Settings, then Backup, and tap Restore from Backup. Pick your backup file. Keychain backups open on the same Apple ID with no password; password backups ask for it. Documents already in your vault are kept.
I forgot my backup password. Can you recover it?
No. Doc8 never sees your password or your files, so there is nothing we can recover. If your old phone still has Doc8, make a new backup from it.
Reminders are not showing up.
Check that notifications are on for Doc8 in the iOS Settings app. Reminders need an expiry date on the document; open the document and check its fields.
How do I import from another scanner app?
Export your documents as PDF from the old app, then share them to Doc8 or save them to Files and import from there. Step-by-step guide.
Can I send documents to my computer?
Yes. Share a document and save it to Files or AirDrop it, or use Wi-Fi transfer to download it from a browser on a computer on the same network.
Does Doc8 work on iPad or Mac?
Doc8 needs iOS 17 or later.
